HAMILTON — Liv Williams scored a game-high 23 points as fourth-seeded Frenchtown defeated Dillon, 34-29, for the Southwestern A girls basketball district championship on Saturday.

The Broncs scored just eight points in the first half but outscored the Beavers 26-14 in the second half to secure the win. Williams scored 17 of her points after halftime and finished the game making seven of 11 free throw attempts. Kylie Willett (5 points), Meg Delaney (4) and Callie Bagnell (2) were the only other players to score for Frenchtown.

Brynley Fitzgerald led Dillon with 19 points.

Frenchtown will take the Southwestern A’s No. 1 seed into next week’s Western A divisional tournament at Butte. The Broncs will play Ronan in the first round, and Dillon will face Libby.
