WORDEN – Kelson Eiselein scored 16 points, and Roundup survived a strong challenge from Joliet to claim a 42-38 overtime win in the District 4B boys basketball championship game Saturday night.

Joliet jumped to a 15-10 lead early in the second quarter. That proved to be the biggest lead of the night in the low-scoring affair. The J-Hawks led 17-15 at halftime, but Roundup seized control by winning the third quarter 18-13.

Both teams went ice cold after that. The Panthers scored just two points in the fourth, as Joliet forced the OT session tied at 35. Roundup then held the J-Hawks to just three points in the extra frame.

Cash Cota scored 10 points for the Panthers, while Jayce Griffith and Tanner Rae added eight each to make up all of Roundup’s scoring. Joliet’s Rylan Olson led everyone with 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Roundup adds the tournament title to its regular-season title and will go into the Southern B divisional tournament at 18-1. Joliet also advances to divisionals.
