BILLINGS – In their first game since losing their 11-game win streak to rival Billings West, the Billings Senior girls took care of Butte, 57-37, in an Eastern AA basketball matchup Saturday afternoon at home.

Senior jumped out to a 12-3 first-quarter lead thanks to six points from Kola Bad Bear, Class AA’s leading scorer. The Broncs pushed the advantage to 27-15 by halftime, and ballooned the lead to 43-24 by the end of the third.

The win comes on the heels of blowing a 17-0 lead to West Thursday night in Senior’s first conference loss of the season. Saturday’s win pulls the Broncs back even with the Bears atop the Eastern AA at 9-1.

Both schools travel to Great Falls High and Great Falls CMR to end the regular season next weekend.

Senior’s boys, meanwhile, survived a late Butte rally for a 59-56 road win Saturday afternoon.

The Broncs led most of the first half, taking a 30-24 advantage into halftime. They increased the lead to 52-28 with five minutes to play before the Bulldogs made it interesting.

The win pulls Senior back to 5-5 in the Eastern AA. That ties the Broncs with Bozeman for third, though the Hawks own the tiebreaker by virtue of a season sweep.
