Hamilton, Butte Central boys take care of Southwest A challengers

HAMILTON – The top seeds moved through the Southwest A boys basketball semifinals on Friday. Hamilton and Butte Central will now meet in the championship at 8 p.m. Saturday night.

Hamilton’s undefeated boys took down defending state champ Dillon 48-36. The Broncs led the whole way against the No. 4-seed Beavers. Carter Kearns paced the balanced Broncs with 14 points.

Butte Central trailed for a good portion during the middle quarters against No. 3-seed Frenchtown. But the No. 2 Maroons pulled away in the fourth quarter to win 60-47. Luke Heaphy scored 15 points in the win.
