PABLO – The top seeds remained on a collision course in the District 14C boys basketball tournament on Friday. The boys from Arlee and Plains each won comfortably in semfinals.

Top-ranked, undefeated, defending state champion Arlee did get a test from No. 4-seed Noxon. The Red Devils hung tough with the Warriors, who have dominated everyone in the conference all season. Arlee led only 27-20 at halftime, but a 24-point third quarter pushed the Warriors to a bigger lead. Phillip Malatare scored a team-high 24 points.

Plains built a 13-point lead at halftime against No. 3-seed Charlo. The No. 2 Horsemen never let the Vikings back in the game, finishing off a 50-33 win. Jay VonHeeder scored a team-high 12 points in a balanced Plains effort.

Plains and Arlee will now clash at 5:45 p.m. in the 14C championship.
