Missoula Hellgate pulls away from Kalispell Flathead in key clash

KALISPELL – Two of the top boys basketball teams in the Western AA met for a big showdown on Thursday night. In the end, Missoula Hellgate left with a statement victory.

The Knights dominated the second half to defeat the Kalispell Flathead Braves, 67-50. The game was tied at halftime, before Hellgate pushed the lead to double digits late in the third quarter.

Rollie Worster led Hellgate with 20 points. Kade Lunday added 12. Sam Elliott paced the Braves with 18 points.

Hellgate improved to 7-2 in Western AA play. Flathead lost its second game of the week to fall to 5-4.

In other Missoula-versus-Kalispell matchups, the Flathead girls won at Hellgate, 36-32. Kalispell Glacier picked up a sweep of Missoula Big Sky. The Wolfpack boys won 49-36. The Glacier girls won 49-31.
