Game capsules from Day 1 of the District 10C tournament at Shelby High School.

BOYS

Sunburst 74, Simms 51
Treyton Pickering scored 26 points, including 11 in the fourth quarter as the Refiners overcame poor shooting to top Simms and advance to the district semifinals. Jeff Owens and Christian Bloch each added 13 points for Sunburst. Caden Smerker led Simms with 16 points.

Great Falls Central 70, Cascade 50
The Great Falls Central Mustangs scored 24 fourth-quarter points to blow open a close game in a win over Cascade. Noah Ambuehl led all scorers with 24 points, including 12 in the final frame. Ethan Vincent added 16 for the Mustangs. Dillon Shipp led Cascade with 15 points. Great Falls Central will face Sunburst in the 10C semifinals, with the winner automatically qualifying for state.

Heart Butte 92, Augusta 21
The Warriors jumped out to a 70-7 lead at halftime, leading to a running clock the entire second half. Shylon Spoonhunter scored 22 points to lead Heart Butte with Anthony Aimsback adding 19. Heart Butte remains undefeated on the season.

Valier 52, Power 45
Colten Curry scored 26 points and went 13-for-18 from the free throw line to pace the Panthers to victory. The game was back and forth with each team answering runs from the other before Valier took a 45-43 lead with 2:27 left on an Austin Stoltz jumped and never looked back. Dominik Dunk led Power with 18 points. Valier will face Heart Butte in Thursday night’s semifinal.

GIRLS

Simms 48, Dutton-Brady 19
Janessa Willekes scored 16 points and her sister Elyssa added 13 to lead the No. 2-seeded Simms Tigers to a win over Dutton-Brady. Grace Weber scored 17 of the Diamondbacks’ 19 points to lead all scorers.

Heart Butte 70, Valier 57
Five players scored in double figures for Heart Butte, led by Chalissa and Chaslin Kipp with 12 each in a win over Valier. Abby Bock led all scorers with 15 for the Panthers. The Lady Warriors will move on to face Simms in the semifinals on Friday.
