BILLINGS – Rob Zimmerman is returning to his roots.
The Billings West graduate has been named head coach of West High’s girls soccer program, long after graduating from West in 1989.
The announcement was confirmed Tuesday morning by School District 2 activities director Mark Wahl.
Zimmerman recently moved back to Billings from Great Falls after spending several years as a varsity head coach at CMR High School, according to Wahl. He was the Rustlers’ head boys soccer coach from 1998-2009, then became head girls coach at CMR for the following five years.
Zimmerman and CMR’s girls won the State AA title in 2014.
“We look forward to working with Rob as he strives to continue the winning tradition at West High School,” Wahl said in a media release.
Zimmerman replaces Casey Marlenee, who resigned after five years in December.
