Boys basketball power polls: Great Falls CMR rises to No. 1

A new week, a new No. 1 in the MontanaSports.com Class AA boys basketball power poll.

Great Falls CMR climbed to the top spot this week after knocking off crosstown rival Great Falls High last week. The Bison were ranked No. 1 entering the Electric City showdown with the Rustlers, who were then ranked second. Missoula Sentinel inched back up to No. 2 after sweeping crosstown foes Big Sky and Hellgate, while the Bison slid to No. 3. Kalispell Flathead moved up one spot to fourth, while Missoula Hellgate dropped to No. 5.

Class A saw only minimal changes, as Belgrade dropped from the top five. The Panthers entered last week as one of the hottest teams in Class A, but they suffered an 11-point loss to Lewistown, which is now ranked fifth in the MontanaSports.com poll. Browning moved up one spot to fourth.

There were no changes to the Class B or Class C rankings. Weather played havoc on the schedules, but the teams that did play held court. None of the teams ranked in the top five lost last week.
