Sheridan’s 21 lead Helena Capital girls past Missoula Big Sky

HELENA — Sydney Sheridan had a game-high 21 points as Helena Capital routed Missoula Big Sky 70-34 in Western AA girls basketball action Saturday.

Sheridan made nine of 14 field goals, including three 3-pointers, helping Capital shoot nearly 60 percent from the floor in the win. Sheridan added four steals, four assists and two rebounds for Bill Pilgeram’s squad.

Taylor Sullivan added 15 points and seven rebounds for the Bruins, while Kacie Gross had nine points and nine boards. Capital’s defense limited Big Sky to just 10-of-43 shooting and doubled the Eagles in rebounding, 40-20.

Capital (11-1 overall, 5-1 league) led 39-16 at halftime and ballooned its lead to 39 points, 65-26 later in the contest.

Big Sky was led by Mia Sandau’s 13 points in the loss. The Eagles fall to 1-11 overall and 0-6 in Western AA play.
