Butte Central trounces Dillon boys, squeaks past girls

BUTTE – Butte Central jumped out to a 19-5 lead at the end of the first quarter over Dillon on their way to victory, 55-35, friday night.

The Maroons jumped on Dillon right away, going up 12-0 in the first three minutes. Dillon cut the deficit to as little as 10, but Butte Central continually had answers. Cade Holter had 21 points and five assists to lead Butte Central.

The girls game featured two tremendous individual talents, and they were on full display. Butte Central’s Khloie Thatcher led the Maroons past Dillon, 35-31, by pouring in 24 points. Thatcher made or assisted on all but four of Butte Central’s points.

Brynley Fitzgerald poured in a game-high 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the losing effort. Fitzgerald made 12 of 14 attempts at the foul line.
