BILLINGS – A stifling press defense helped Billings West cruise to a 42-24 win over Great Falls High Friday night in an Eastern AA girls basketball contest.
The Bison play a very deliberate style, which frustrated West in the first quarter as the Bears only led 8-5. West head coach Charlie Johnson then implemented a press defense in the second to speed up the game, and the Bears turned turnovers in points.
West extended its lead to 25-12 late in the half and kept the Bison at bay the rest of the game.
West moves to 5-1 in the Eastern AA with the win, one game behind Billings Senior, which defeated Great Falls CMR Friday. West hosts CMR Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
