Eureka, Colstrip, Circle top Class B-C wrestling polls

GLASGOW — Defending state wrestling champion Eureka remains the No. 1 team in this week’s Class B wrestling polls, according to coaches around the state. The Lions were voted the top-ranked program, ahead of contenders Colstrip, Huntley Project and Glasgow.

Circle was once again voted No. 1 in Class C.

Jonathan Schmidt and Garrett Graves continue to be Eureka’s top hopes at individual state titles, with Schmidt ranked No. 1 at 160 pounds, while Graves is top-ranked at 182. Nathan Schmidt (120) and Gunner Smith (113) were each selected No. 2 for the Lions, with Hank Dun No. 3 at 132 pounds.

Colstrip is likely to give Eureka a run for the Class B title at next weekend’s state wrestling tournament in Billings. Jackson Currier (138), Ty Bradley (152), Nakoda Siegel (170) and Merlin Whitedirt (285) were each top-ranked in their individual weight classes. The Colts may hold the best chance at winning the most individual titles in the Class B-C brackets.

Forsyth’s Michael Weber enters the postseason with an undefeated record, according to coaches, and is No. 1 at 145 pounds. Nathan Weber is No. 2 at 132 pounds behind Glasgow champion Matt Reyling. The Dogies are also represented by Camron Reilly as the No. 1 wrestler at 103 pounds.

Huntley Project’s Blaine Buchanan is among the top 205-pound wreslters in the state, and is again top-ranked in the Class B-C polls.

Circle’s Lincoln Stormer paces the Wildcats into the postseason.
