Belgrade and Shelby, two teams with high preseason expectations, are hitting their strides during the second half of the regular season. Both teams cracked the MontanaSports.com boys basketball power polls after impressive weeks.

Belgrade has now won four consecutive games against Class A opponents, including quality wins over Butte Central and Lewistown last week. Shelby, meanwhile, has quietly won seven straight games after a slow start. The Class B Coyotes knocked off Rocky Boy and Class A Browning last week.

Great Falls CMR is also new to the MontanaSports.com power polls. The Rustlers have put together a 9-2 season thus far and have one of the best wins in the state — a 56-42 victory at Bozeman — on their resume. They replace Billings Senior in the Class AA rankings after the Broncs dropped games to Bozeman and Class A Laurel last week.

Missoula Sentinel, Hamilton, Bigfork and Arlee kept their places atop their respective polls. The complete MontanaSports.com boys basketball power polls are below. Please click here for the girls rankings.
