BOULDER — The District 5B-leading Three Forks boys and girls basketball teams swept Jefferson on Friday to maintain their holds at the top of the conference standings.

Bryce Olson and Payden Lynn each scored 14 points to help the Three Forks boys hold off Jefferson. The Panthers trailed by as many as 13 points in the first half but cut the deficit to just four points late in the fourth quarter.

Jefferson senior Josh Eckmann had a chance to bring the Panthers within three points but was whistled for an offensive foul, negating the basket. Three Forks scored on the ensuing possession to push the lead back to eight points. The Wolves would pull away for the 12-point win to improve to 10-3 overall and 7-0 in conference play.

Eckmann had a game-high 16 points for the Panthers, who also got nine points from Nolan Sonsteng. Jefferson falls to 4-9 overall and 2-6 in conference with the loss.

The top-ranked Three Forks girls improved to 13-0 overall and 7-0 in District 5B with a 54-32 win over the Panthers. The Wolves built a double-digit lead in the first half thanks to their pressure defense turning Jefferson turnovers into Three Forks points.

Kyle Olson scored 17 points to lead the Wolves, Shainy Mack added 12 and Morgan Allen finished with 10.

Aubrey McMaster scored 19 points to lead Jefferson, which fell to 8-5 overall and 5-3 in conference.
