Just shy of four weeks remain until postseason basketball reaches Montana’s high school courts, as teams continue to fight for conference championships and district tournament seeding. Seventeen teams remain undefeated entering this week’s slate of games, with the Class C girls boasting the highest number with five. Four unbeatens remain on the Class C boys courts.
Each week, MTN Sports will update a list of the state’s “30-point club,” showcasing the performances of 30 points or more throughout the season.
Lincoln’s Nathan Brown, a 5-foot-9 sophomore point guard, made his third appearance on the list over the weekend, notching 40 points for the second time this season. Brown dropped 40 points against White Sulphur Springs on Saturday.
Manhattan Christian’s Matthew Amunrud made program history on Saturday, nailing 10 of 11 3-point attempts for 43 points in the Eagles’ win over Absarokee. The Eagles remain No. 2 in the MontanaSports.com polls.
Other 30-point performances on the boys courts included Shelby’s T.J. Reynolds, Saco-Whitewater-Hinsdale’s Trace Simonson and Choteau’s Sayer Patton, who made his fifth appearance on the list.
On the girls courts, Dutton-Brady’s Grace Weber made her debut after scoring 30 points in a win over Sunburst last Thursday. Weber’s performance was the lone 30-point accolade reported to MTN Sports.
