Helena Capital girls’ depth big part of perfect start

Posted

HELENA – The Helena Capital girls basketball team is off to an incredible start, and it’s really not a surprise to anyone.

The Lady Bruins swept both Kalispell Glacier and Kalispell Flathead this past weekend to keep their undefeated streak going, and the team knows exactly what is driving the success.

“It’s really big that all nine players on varsity and some (junior varsity) that come in can hit shots when we need them to,” said Capital sophomore Megan Lindbo.

“I just learn more and more how deep we are,” added head coach Bill Pilgeram. “We can send seven or eight out there and just keep it the same pace, same defense, switch defenses. We can just keep pressure on and keep the offense uncomfortable. We’re very deep on offense. You never know who’s going to be the leading scorer, who’s going to get points. I think we’re getting harder and harder to guard because of that.”

“It’s really fun. I love playing with this team,” said Lindbo. “There are a lot of great teammates, a lot of great players on and off the court. Coaching staff is great. It’s awesome.”

The girls are in limbo this week. The Bruins don’t return to the court until Saturday against Dillon at home.
