Boys basketball power polls: Missoula Sentinel, Livingston climb after big wins

It was a wild week on Montana’s high school boys basketball courts, as multiple top-five teams lost. Missoula Sentinel rallied for a crucial crosstown win over Missoula Hellgate, Billings Central stumbled against Sidney, Bigfork trounced Florence, and Manhattan Christian suffered an out-of-class loss to Three Forks.

For all the chaos, the top-ranked teams maintained their rankings. Bozeman continues to strengthen its hold in Class AA, Hamilton tops Class A, Bigfork appears to be the dominant force in Class B, and defending champion Arlee is again the favorite in Class C.

Sentinel and Great Falls High both moved up in the Class AA rankings after impressive showings last week, while Livingston climbed a spot in Class A after defeating Lewistown, the Rangers’ top Central A competition. Three Forks is the new No. 5 team in Class B after Florence’s loss, though a handful of teams remain in contention for that ranking.

Class C didn’t undergo any changes in its top five. The full MontanaSports.com boys basketball power polls are below. For the girls rankings, please click here.
