MISSOULA – The Class A Ronan girls hung tough with highly ranked Class AA Missoula Sentinel on Tuesday night, but the Spartans took control on their way to a 55-40 victory.

Ronan held a lead through most of the first quarter, with Sentinel making a late run to hold a 16-12 lead after the first eight minutes. Then a big second quarter gave the Spartans a double-digit lead that they held through the rest of the game.

The Sentinel boys won by the same margin in Ronan on Tuesday, 60-45. Again a strong second quarter helped the Spartans build a double-digit lead, and the Chiefs couldn’t make a comeback in the second half.
