FRENCHTOWN and MISSOULA – The Class A Frenchtown Broncs stayed close for a while with Class AA Missoula Hellgate, but the Knights finished off a couple victories on Tuesday night.
The Frenchtown boys kept it close through a fast-paced first quarter on the Broncs’ home floor. Hellgate led 23-21 after the first eight minutes, but the Knights gave up only 21 points the rest of the game. Hellgate finished off another win, 71-42.
The girls game in Missoula was a defensive battle, with the two teams tied 11-11 at halftime. But a run by Hellgate in the third quarter built a double-digit lead, and the Knights held off the Broncs 38-31.
