BOZEMAN — In the New Year, many of us will look for inspiration and motivation as we take on 2018. You won’t have to look far, as the search doesn’t need to go any farther than Three Forks.
Just a few short months ago, Kortney Combs received news that is a literal nightmare for any mother. Her son, Gavin Foth, had been involved in an ATV accident, along with four of his friends.
Days later, doctors told Combs that her son had a 90 percent chance of being paralyzed from the neck down as a result of his serious injuries. Luckily, the doctors were wrong. Gavin has continued to progress slowly since the Sept. 10 accident, but the overall progress has been huge.
In a video posted to the multi-sport athlete’s #GSTRONG Facebook page, Gavin is seen brushing his teeth on New Year’s Eve — a basic daily function for most, but a huge sign of strength and persistence from a young man defying odds.
The road to recovery is long, but the page shows him continuing to make important strides. This road is also expensive, but you can help Gavin and his family by donating to the family. For information, head to his website.
