RONAN -- The Townsend Bulldogs defeated Frenchtown 42-36 in the championship dual of the Western Montana Duals on Saturday.
Townsend defeated host Ronan 60-13 to open the championship bracket on Saturday, then met St. Ignatius-Charlo in the semifinals. The Bulldogs of coach John O'Dell won 42-35 to advance to the championship.
Frenchtown edged Polson 38-33 to begin its championship bracket competition. The Broncs then downed Columbia Falls 48-30 to advance to the championship against Townsend.
Saturday's championship win capped a perfect weekend for Townsend, which went 3-0 in pool play before competing in the championship bracket.
Columbia Falls finished third in the championship bracket, charging past Polson 48-27.
