HETTINGER, N.D. -- Miles City wrestlers Braxton Scheeler (113 pounds), Currey Brown (126), Damian Leidholt (138) and Tyler Harms (220) won individual titles in their respective weight classes Saturday at the 2020 Hettinger Wrestling Classic in North Dakota, pacing the Cowboys to the team title at the tournament.
Miles City finished with 271 points to edge New Salem-Almont, which was runner-up with 269.5.
Scheeler earned an 11-9 decision in the 113-pound championship, a weight class that saw teammate Morgan Buckingham place eighth.
Brown dominated at 126, finishing with a 10-3 championship decision. Jake Murnion earned a fourth-place effort in the weight class for the Cowboys.
Leidholt was credited with a major decision in his title match, while Harms finished with a 7-4 victory in the 220-pound championship.
In all, 14 Cowboys placed in the top eight of the tournament, with Kaid Campbell finishing runner-up at 145 pounds and Nate McAvoy second at 170. Brenan Hager placed third in the 160-pound weight class.
Baker and Broadus also competed in the tournament, with the Spartans finishing eighth with 102 points. O'Connell Qualley was the highest placer for Baker, taking third in the heavyweight division, while Bruce Higbee was also impressive, finishing fourth at 152 pounds. Devon Nesbitt earned a fifth-place effort at 138. Damien Nesbitt was sixth a weight up at 145.
Broadus was 12th with 29 points.
