GLASGOW -- Huntley Project edged Glasgow for the team title at the Eastern B/C wrestling divisional tournament on Saturday. The Red Devils scored 260 points to Glasgow's 255.5 over the two-day event.
Project placed three individual champions at the super-divisional meet, including Gavin Nedens at 113 pounds, Cooper Lane at 120 and Wylee Lindeen at 160. Nedens and Lindeen got their championship victories over Glasgow opponents in two of the most thrilling matches of the entire weekend to help push the Red Devils to the team title. Nedens earned a 5-3 sudden victory over Jake Kuka of the Scotties, while Lindeen defeated Glasgow's Damien Nesbit in the ultimate tiebreaker period.
William Loveridge (170 pounds), Stran Selman (182) and Cade Buchanan (205) added second-place finishes for Huntley Project, who qualified 14 total wrestlers for next week's State B/C tournament in Shelby. The Scotties won the 2020 Class B state title with 154 points, while Huntley Project was second with 134.
Glasgow also qualified 14 wrestlers, including four individual champions. Colten Fast won the 152-pound bracket for the Scotties, who also saw Kyler Hallock, Dylan Nieskens and Mayson Phipps win divisional titles at 170, 205 and 285 pounds, respectively.
Circle, the reigning Class C state champion, had a strong showing to finish third in the team standings at the Eastern B/C divisional tournament. Seven Wildcats secured top-eight finishes with Krayle Stormer (126 pounds) and Bryson Bartelson (132) earning divisional titles.
Baker's Riley Davis (103 pounds), Forsyth's Camron Reilly (138), Columbus-Absarokee-Park City's Brady Ellison (145) and Colstrip's Rylin Burns (182) also won individual championships at the Eastern B/C divisional tournament. Championship results are below.
