BUTTE — The District 12C championships may have been played Saturday, but the Ennis and Philipsburg girls needed a challenge game Monday night at the Maroon Activities Center in Butte to determine who would join Twin Bridges in Frenchtown for the Western C divisional tournament this week.
There was a brief time Ennis had the lead in the first quarter, but once Philipsburg regained that lead, it never let it go for the rest of the game.
Late in the fourth the Mustangs were within three points of tying the game, but a late steal and clutch free throw shooting sealed it up for the Prospectors in a 36-24 win.
