Great Falls CMR downs Bozeman, Billings West grinds out win over Great Falls High

Great Falls CMR built an 11-point lead at halftime and cruised to a 44-28 Eastern AA girls basketball win over Bozeman on Friday.

The win propelled CMR to 7-5 and 5-1 in Eastern AA play, good enough for second place in the conference ahead of Saturday's matchup with leader Billings West. Bozeman falls to 3-8, 2-4.

Kiely Gunderson scored 14 for the Rustlers and Lauren Lindseth added eight. Addi Ekstrom and Avery Burkhart each scored eight for the Hawks.

Billings West 56, Great Falls High 48

Across town, Billings West defeated Great Falls High 56-48 in a back-and-forth affair.

Mackenzie Rask led the Golden Bears with 18 points, while Morgan Sunchild scored 18 for Great Falls.

West stays perfect in conference play, moving to 9-3, 6-0. Great Falls loses just its second conference game, moving to 8-4, 4-2.
