Butte Central girls get back on track, roll past Stevensville

BUTTE — Sofee Thatcher poured in a game-high 17 points and Brooke Badovinac added 11 as the Maroons surged past Stevensville 56-30 in Class A girls basketball action on Saturday afternoon at the Maroon Activities Center.

The rout over the Yellowjackets came a day after Central, which had opened its campaign with a 3-0 start, suffered its first loss of the season to Frenchtown on Friday.

The Maroons led by 27-18 by halftime and stormed ahead in the second half to make it a runaway win.

Stevensville was paced by 14 points from junior Maliyah LeCoure.

Butte Central heads to Manhattan on Thursday while Stevensville is set to host Corvallis on Tuesday.
