BILLINGS -- The Belgrade basketball girls knew they'd take some lumps this season.
Not only did they make the jump from Class A to AA, but their roster is equipped with only three seniors. The Panthers (1-8 overall, 0-4 Eastern AA) took another lump Thursday night, losing 70-27 at Billings West.
The Golden Bears, showcasing seven seniors, led 20-9 after the first quarter and 38-15 at half.
Eleven of the 12 players for West scored, led by Kendell Ellis with 12. Shauna Stene followed with 10. Laiten Lantis collected five rebounds.
West (6-3, 4-0) hosts unbeaten Billings Central next Tuesday at 7 p.m.
