RONAN -- The semifinal round of the Western A divisional boys basketball tournament tipped off Friday in Ronan with the Frenchtown Broncs taking on the Butte Central Maroons.
In the first quarter it was a close contest with both teams scoring seven points. In the second quarter Frenchtown slowly started to distribute the ball and pull away behind buckets from six different players. In the second half it was all Broncs as they outscored the Maroons 14-8 in the third quarter.
In the end, Frenchtown pulled out the win 49-33 to move on to the Western A divisional championship game on Saturday night.
