SHELBY — Rhett Reynolds scored 24 points and Logan Leck added 17 as the Shelby boys basketball team defeated Fairfield 62-44 on Tuesday.
Guidry Giles led Fairfield with 11 points. The game was the conference opener for the District 1B foes. Shelby moves to 2-0 on the season, while Fairfield falls to 0-1.
In the girls game, Fairfield opened up an early 9-0 lead en route to a 44-25 win over Shelby. Madison Rosenbaum scored 14 for the Eagles and Tori Jones scored 11.
Fairfield moves to 1-0 while Shelby falls to 0-2.
