GREAT FALLS -- The University of Providence men's basketball team announced the signing of Josiah Amunrud Thursday afternoon.

Amunrud graduated from Manhattan Christian High School in Churchill this past spring. He averaged 16.4 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists per game and was named both all-state and all-conference this past season. He led his team to Western C divisional championships as both a junior and senior, and helped the Eagles to the Class C state championship as a junior.

He also played track and field and golf for the Eagles.

"Josiah comes from a very successful high school program and was very well coached," head coach Steve Keller said. "He is a skilled, hard-working player and a tremendous student. We are lucky to have him join our program."

Amunrud was also named academic all-state as a senior and was the valedictorian of his class. He plans to study pre-med at Providence.
