Helena Capital boys top Butte High; Butte Central girls down Livingston

BUTTE — Brayden Koch scored a game-high 29 points to help the Helena Capital boys basketball team to a 76-69 Class AA win over Butte High at the Butte Civic Center on Thursday evening.

It was the season opener for both teams.

The Bulldogs were paced by 18 points form Blake Drakos and 14 from Billy Kelly.

Butte High heads to Helena High on Saturday, while the Bruins will host Missoula Hellgate.

GIRLS: Butte Central 43, Livingston 35

Sofee Thatcher and Brooke Badovinac scored 11 point apiece as the Butte Central girls opened their season with a 43-35 non-conference victory over Livingston at the Maroon Activities Center.

It was the Maroons' season opener, while the Rangers fell to 0-3.

Livingston was led by Taylor Young with 7 points.

The Maroons head to Dillon to open conference play against the Beavers on Saturday.
