Bozeman Hawks beat Billings Senior 63-58, improve to 6-1

BILLINGS -- The Bozeman Hawks opened with a 3-pointer Friday night at Billings Senior and never trailed on the way to a 63-58 Eastern AA boys basketball road win.

The Hawks went right to work, building a 17-5 lead in the opening quarter. Senior answered with a 9-2 run and closed to within 35-27 at halftime, but Bozeman led comfortably throughout the second half, building its lead to 50-37 after three.

The Broncs didn't draw closer than eight until under a minute to play when Liam Romie banked in an NBA-range 3 cutting it to six. He hit a layup in the final 10 seconds to make it 63-58. Romie and Junior Bergan led Senior in scoring with 15 points apiece.

Bozeman's Brady Lang led everybody with 17 points followed by Tucker MacBeth with 13. Bryson Zanto and Jackson Basye each chipped in with 12 points.

Bozeman improves to 6-1 on the season. Senior, suffering its first home loss of the year, sits at 3-3.
