BILLINGS — The Billings West boys basketball team used an 11-1 run to start the third quarter to pull away from crosstown rival Billings Central for a 52-49 win Saturday night at the Golden Dome.

Central, coming off a surprising win over Billings Senior Thursday, hung with the Class AA Bears throughout the first half. West led just 25-22 at the break but ran the lead to double digits after halftime to grab control.

Central hit two late 3-pointers to make the final score close but never really threatened in the fourth.

West returns to Eastern AA play Friday at Billings Skyview, while Central returns home Tuesday to face Miles City.
