GREAT FALLS – Hot off a 2018 season that saw the Argos win their first-ever Frontier Conference regular season championship, the University of Providence volleyball team is looking to continue making waves in 2019.
Argo volleyball will open the 2019 season similarly to their 2018 season with a matchup against Medicine Hat in Havre, Montana.
The Argos will then compete in a pair of road tournaments, first traveling to Butte, Montana for the 2019 Big Sky Challenge hosted by Montana Tech at the Butte Civic Center. They will play Valley City State University (N.D.) and Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) on Aug. 23, before closing out the tournament against Northwest University (Wash.) and Evergreen State College on Aug. 24. The Argos will then head to the Gem State as they participate in the College of Idaho Labor Day Tournament hosted by the Yotes. Providence will open up the tournament with a pair of matchups against Hope International University (Calif.) and the tournament host, College of Idaho, on Aug. 30. They will then finish out their trip to Idaho against the Eastern Oregon Mountaineers and Cardinal Stritch University Wolves on Aug. 31.
For the second-straight season, the Argos host the University of Providence Classic on Sept. 5-7. The Argos will open the tournament against North Idaho College on Sept. 5. The Argos will then play Benedictine University at Mesa on Sept. 6, before closing out the tournament with a midday matchup against Medicine Hat College on Sept. 7.
The Argos will begin their Frontier Conference slate at home against the Montana Tech Orediggers on Sept. 19.
Providence will then hit the road to close out the month of September. They will travel to the Gem State to take on the Lewis-Clark Warriors on Sept. 21, before returning to the Treasure State to play the MSU-Northern Skylights on Sept. 25 and Carroll College on Sept. 27.
Argo volleyball will return home to begin October as they host the Rocky Mountain College Battlin’ Bears on Oct. 3 and Montana Western on Oct. 5.
Taking a break from conference play, the Argos will close out their non-conference slate at the Grand View Tournament. The Argos will open competition in Iowa against Ottawa University (Kan.) and Saint Ambrose University on Oct. 11. The Argos will take on Viterbo University and tournament host, Grand View, on Oct. 12 to close out the weekend.
Providence remains on the road as they visit the Montana Tech Orediggers on Oct. 18.
The Argos return to the McLaughlin Center on Oct. 26 to host the Lewis-Clark Warriors. They will then host a midweek matchup with the MSU-Northern Skylights on Oct. 31, followed by Senior Day on Nov. 2 as the Argos take on the Carroll Saints.
The Argos will then close out the regular season on the road as they travel to Dillon to play the Montana Western Bulldogs on Nov. 7 and Billings to take on Rocky on Nov. 9.
