WHITEFISH — Parker Esary was named Frontier Conference women’s basketball player of the week, the league announced on Monday.

The 6-foot-1 center from Kalama, Wash. guided No. 13 University of Providence to a 61-55 win over the University of Lethbridge on Saturday. The sophomore recorded a double-double with 22 points and a season-best 16 rebounds in the win. Esary made seven of 13 field goals, including an 8-9 effort at the free throw line.

On the year, Esary is averaging 16.5 points and 10.6 rebounds per game, while shooting 60 percent from the field. Her 117 rebounds are 40 better than second-best on the Argos team.

Esary and Providence return to action Wednesday at the Phoenix Frontier Classic. The Argos meet No. 14 Menlo College before contests against San Diego Christian and Benedictine University at Mesa.
