SIOUX CITY, Iowa — The University of Providence volleyball program was recognized as the 2018 Champions of Character during the NAIA national tournament.

The recognition is awarded to the program that shows exemplary character and represents the five core character values of the Champions of Character, which include integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.

During the tournament, the Argos found out about a fellow program that needed assistance getting to the Sioux City, Iowa for the Champions of Character Special Olympics event because their bus driver had already exceeded his hourly limit. After becoming aware of the situation, Coach Duda and the team ended practice early to assist in any capacity that they could and picked up the team to help bring them to the event.

The award was the cherry on top of a historic year for the program that included its first-ever Frontier Conference Championship and berth to the NAIA National Tournament.
