University of Providence volleyball earns program’s 1st-ever NAIA Tournament berth

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The 2018 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Tournament automatic qualifiers and opening round matchups were announced by the national office, with the University of Providence receiving the No. 17 seed.

After earning the Frontier Conference title and automatic bid to the national tournament, the Argos were awarded to bypass the first round matchups, and advance straight to the national tournament in Sioux City, Iowa on November 27 through December 1. This is the program’s first ever appearance in the NAIA Tournament.

All opening-round matches will take place on November 17. Following the matches, the remaining teams will be reseeded and the Argos will learn their competition for pool play to begin on November 27. The winners will advance to the first-round and quarterfinal matches on November 30, followed by the semifinals and National Championship match on December 1.

Matchups and bracketing for the national tournament will be announced on Monday, November 19.
