Providence’s Kelsey Shaver named Frontier Conference attacker of the week

WHITEFISH – University of Providence junior outside hitter Kelsey Shaver contributed offensively and defensively this week, as the Argos fell to No. 6 Rocky Mountain, 0-3, but bounced back to defeat Montana Western, 3-1. Shaver was named the Frontier Conference attacker of the week on Monday, her second such accolade of the season.

On Thursday, Shaver garnered 16 kills for an attack percentage of .239. She also earned 18 digs and collected a service ace against the Battlin’ Bears. Shaver followed up her outstanding performance against Rocky with 18 kills on .366 hitting, while also garnering 24 digs and one service ace in the victory over the Western Bulldogs. Shaver averaged 4.86 kills and six digs per set with a .299 hitting percentage on the week.

The Argos return home this week as they host the Montana Tech Orediggers on Thursday, October 5 at 7 p.m.
