PHILADELPHIA — Darneail Jenkins’ dream is alive.
The Rocky Mountain College tight end received an invite to the Philadelphia Eagles’ rookie minicamp Saturday night. Hours after the 2019 NFL Draft wrapped up, Jenkins posted the good news on his Twitter account:
Things don’t always goes as planned but it’s not over 🙏🏾🏈

First-year Rocky head coach Chris Stutzriem echoed his excitement on Twitter:
Congrats to @dneail96 for being invited to the @Eagles mini camp! But more proud that he will walk across the stage for graduation next weekend! Great player but even better person! #BearRaid

As a senior last fall, Jenkins caught 44 passes for 737 yards and 10 touchdowns, earning second-team all-Frontier Conference honors for the league champion Battlin’ Bears. He is the second Rocky player in four seasons to receive a minicamp invite, joining former wide receive Andre McCullouch, who tried out for the Washington Redskins in 2016.
Chris Horn is the only Bear to ever play in the NFL. Horn played wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs from 2003-05 and was in training camp with the New Orleans Saints (2006) and Carolina Panthers (2007).
