SPEARFISH, S.D. – Rocky Mountain College kicked off the outdoor track & field season Saturday at the 2019 Yellow Jacket Spring Open in Spearfish,S.D.
Rocky’s day was highlighted by a first place performance from Jackson Duffy in the men’s 5000m. The sophomore from Ronan finished at the top of 25 runners with a time of 15:36.82. The time sits 11th nationally in NAIA’s outdoor track and field qualifying list.
Brenden Leaming finished fifth with a time of 50.20 in the men’s 400m.
Michael Lee finished third in a field of 15 in the shot put throwing a distance of 13.94m/45’9″.
Konnolly Shane took fifth in the javelin throw with a distance of 44.56m/146’2″.
Morgan Allen finished in third in the women’s high jump with a height of 1.48m/4’10.25″.
Kaitlyn Gordon took foruth in in the women’s javelin with a distance of 32.08/105’3″.
In the women’s 800m, Carrie Cota took seventh in a field of 12 runners with a time of 2:30.47.
