Thirteen Rocky Mountain College athletes named NAIA Scholar Athletes

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Rocky Mountain College placed 13 athletes from the fall semester on the Daktronics NAIA Scholar Athletes team Wednesday.

Women’s soccer led the way with six players. Nicole Sparks, Mhari Smith, Alexis Robbins, Nicoletta Litherland, Sami Heimer, and Lauren Cornwall were among 732 student-athletes selected by the NAIA for their excellence in the classroom.

Four volleyball selections included Annie Cooke, Daniella Russell, Ruby Kallenbach, and Olivia L’Ami. This is the second year in a row that Kallenbach has received the award.

Men’s soccer player Bilechi Sumaili also received the award for the second year in a row, while cross country runners Courtney Hallock and Corinne Hamilton were also selected.

To be nominated, a player must have at least a junior academic status with a minimum of a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
