Rocky Mountain College volleyball stays perfect in Frontier Conference

BILLINGS – The No. 8-ranked Rocky Mountain College volleyball team (24-3, 9-0 FC) stayed undefeated in the Frontier Conference despite a close match Friday night against the Lewis-Clark State Warriors (14-7, 4-5 FC).

Rocky and Lewis-Clark State kept it close throughout the entire match. In the fifth set, the Warriors scored five straight to erase the Battlin’ Bears three point lead and put themselves in range of the upset. The Battlin’ Bears responded by scoring four of their own to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

Rocky remains undefeated in conference play as the regular season begins to wind to a close.

Olivia L’Ami led the Battlin’ Bears with 20 kills with 11 digs. Daniella Russell contributed an additional 18 kills and 9 digs.

Natalie Hilderman supported the team on 43 assists and 18 digs.

Hailey Copinga knocked down 11 kills with 20 digs. Ruby Kallenbach also pulled in 20 digs.

The Battlin’ Bears will host Montana Tech tomorrow for their final home match of the regular season. That action will kick off at 7 p.m.
