Rocky Mountain College splits double-header with College of Idaho

BILLINGS – The No. 14 ranked Rocky Mountain College Battlin’ Bears men (6-2, 2-1 CCC) earned a 3-0 victory over the College of Idaho Saturday afternoon at Herb Klindt Field.

The Battlin’ Bears opened the scoring 35 minutes into the 1st period. Nolan Sherwood found the back of the net off an assist from Mason Luse. Rocky would score again in the 66th minute as Sky Swenson would weave through College of Idaho’s defenders on his way to an unassisted goal. A QuiQui Garcia diving header in the 85th minute would wrap up the game for the Battlin’ Bears.

Rocky’s offensive attack controlled the entire pace of the match. Rocky out shot the Yotes 27-11, while goalkeeper Kristofer Wennin made four saves.

The College of Idaho women meanwhile grabbed their first conference win of the season with a 1-0 win in the first game of the double-header.

College of Idaho’s Maddie Brown scored the only goal of the game off an assist from Madison Glascok in the 40th minute. The Yotes (4-2-1, 1-2 CCC) had a 20-13 shot advantage over the Battlin’ Bears (4-3-1, 0-2-1 CCC).
