Rocky Mountain College volleyball gets another win at Labor Day Classic

BELLEVUE, Neb. – The Rocky Mountain College women’s volleyball team earned a 3-1 victory over Northwestern (Iowa) at the 2018 GoSarpy.com Labor Day Classic in Bellevue, Neb.

The Battlin’ Bears (9-1), coming off a win earlier in the day against No. 2 Dordt, won the first set against the Eagles (6-3), but stumbled briefly in the second with a 25-19 loss. Rocky quickly bounced back and finished the match by winning the last two sets and securing their eighth victory in a row.

Rocky’s Hailey Copinga had 16 kills. Oliva L’Ami and Daniella Russell both added 15 of their own.

Natalie Hilderman contributed 45 assists and 16 digs.

Rocky will play again Saturday in the 2018 GoSarpy.com Labor Day Classic as they face off against Morningside at 2 p.m. and finish with tournament host Bellevue at 6 p.m.
