Rocky Mountain College sweeps two more matches at Big Sky Classic

BUTTE – The Rocky Mountain College women’s volleyball team extended their streak of dominating sweeps with two 3-0 victories over Eastern Oregon and Northwest University Saturday afternoon at the Big Sky Classic in Butte.

Junior Daniella Russell paced Rocky against Eastern Oregon, earning 12 kills while sophomore setter Natalie Hilderman added 33 assists. Additionally, Olivia L’Ami had 11 kills while Hailey Copinga earned 10 kills of her own.

Copinga had 10 more kills against Northwest and 12 digs with L’Ami adding 10 kills of her own. Russell had 9 kills while Hilderman recorded 30 assists.

The Battlin’ Bears now sit at 7-1 for the season. They will return to the court at 12:00 p.m. on Friday in Bellevue, Neb. against Dordt for the 2018 GoSarpy.com Labor Day Classic. Rocky will finish Friday’s action against Northwestern College at 6:00 p.m. The Battlin’ Bears will continue play the following day as they take on Morningside at 2:00 p.m and finish with Bellevue at 6:00 p.m.
