AUSTIN, Texas — The University of Montana Western’s Mindy Kaufman has been selected to the 2018-19 Google Cloud academic all-America NAIA track and field/cross country first team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Kaufman is one of 12 student-athletes selected to the women’s first team. She is a three-time CoSIDA academic all-district selection and is the first student from Montana Western to be named to the academic all-American team.

This past season she became the first Bulldog to earn all-American status in both cross country and outdoor track and field in the same season. She finished 25th in the nation with a school record 18:00 at the NAIA cross country national championship. She finished third in the nation in the 5,000 meters at the NAIA outdoor track and field championships with a time of 17:34, also a school record.

Kaufman graduated from Montana Western this past May with a perfect 4.0 GPA. She was also awarded the Zella K. Flores Cup, which is given annually to the female senior ranked first in her graduating class.
