DILLON – In their 17-14 Senior Day loss to the College of Idaho, the Montana Western Bulldogs were plagued by mistakes and missed opportunities all game long.
“You throw an interception, fumble in the red zone, miss two field goals, and you’ll lose the game,” head coach Ryan Nourse said. “It’s simple. It’s what I’ve been telling you guys all year. It doesn’t matter what you look like on paper. That’s a team we should beat at home, and we beat ourselves by not executing, especially in moments of high pressure, and that’s been our story all year.”
“If you’re a frontrunner, it’s devastating,” Noursed added. ” But if you’re a finisher and you’re tough and physical and you’re playing this game the right way, and you go back and look at your mistakes, you understand where you’re at. You stop giving people games, and you fight and battle until the end.”
Now, the Bulldogs sit outside the playoff race with just one game remaining. They’ll go on the road next Saturday for a matchup against Southern Oregon.
Rocky Mountain College has already clinched at least a share of the Frontier Conference title with its win against Eastern Oregon on Saturday.
