Montana Tech’s Jed Fike awarded Frontier Conference offensive player of the week

WHITEFISH — Montana Tech’s Jed Fike was named the Frontier Conference offensive player of the week.

Fike, a 5-foot-11 running back, had a season-best 223 yards rushing in the upset victory over then-No.11 Rocky Mountain College 31-27. Fike carried the ball 40 times averaging 5.6 yards per carry. The Harrison native scored three times, including a 66-yard run.

Fike finished the season as the top rusher in the Frontier Conference with 1,340 rushing yards and averaging 134 rushing yards a game. Fike’s numbers ranked him fourth in the nation in total rushing and fifth in rushing yards per game. Fike averaged 5.2 yards per carry for the season.
