Bray hits 7 3-pointers to lead MSU-Northern past Embry-Riddle

PHOENIX, Ariz. — Devin Bray hit seven 3-pointers and totaled 25 points as the MSU-Northern Lights defeated Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) 67-52 on Monday at the Cactus Classic.

Bray made nine of 14 field goals, including the 7-10 effort behind the 3-point line, as Northern improved to 8-5 on the season. Bray added two assists and a pair of steals in the win.

Mascio McCadney chipped in with 13 points, Adam Huse had 12 and seven rebounds, while Cedric Crutchfield snagged a game-high 12 rebounds for Shawn Huse’s Lights. Northern held a 34-26 advantage at halftime and held Embry-Riddle to 36 percent from the floor. The Eagles made only four of 16 3-pointers and lost the rebound battle 44-35.

Northern trailed by four midway through the opening half, but quickly re-claimed the lead minutes later, then sparked a 21-7 run to extend the lead to double digits. The Lights’ lead was never less than five the remainder of the contest and was eventually as high as 19 on two occasions.

The Lights conclude the Cactus Classic on Tuesday against Vanguard University, with the contest slated for a noon tip.
